What is West coast swing?
West coast swing (WCS) is a partner dance with roots in Lindy Hop. Originally it was danced to swing and blues music, but these days it can be danced to any modern chart music, including R’n’B and pop music.
Youtube, TikTok and Instagram are full of videos. Here’s a clip of two pro WCS-dancers social dancing at the evening party of an event called ”Desert City Swing”: West Coast Swing – Sean McKeever & Alyssa Glanville – Social Dancing at DCS 2019 (You don’t have to be this skilled to enjoy dancing though!)
